This October 10, 2023, to address this crucial topic, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) have chosen the theme “Mental Health, Global Health: A Universal Right.

With their theme for World Mental Health Day 2023, PAHO and WHO emphasize the importance of ensuring that everyone has access to quality mental health services, regardless of their geographical location or socioeconomic status.

In a world where economic differences are more than evident, PAHO reminds us that everyone deserves the opportunity to take care of their mental health. This involves eliminating the stigma and stereotypes associated with mental disorders, increasing investment in mental health services, and promoting education and awareness on this subject.

“Mental health for everyone” is a call to action for governments, communities, and individuals to work together to overcome barriers that hinder access to mental health care.
